PatternNation Collaboration with Afroditie street wear company, Immigrant lessons dance company and Sleepless Mindz
Afroditie is a Vancouver based streetwear company with an amazing message to share. Bellow is Afrodite's mission statement and their explanation of WAZOBIA WARIOR
WAZOBIA is a combination of the word “come” in three of the main tribal languages of Nigeria. The three distinct tribes, Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo, have a history of conflict, therefore, the idea of the tribes coming together in this phrase is a testament of the desire to promote unity and peace. Essentially it is an invitation to “Come, Come, Come, Warrior”; finding commonalities in our human experience and be inspired by one another. The message of ‘Wazobia Warrior’ is an invitation to unite all people together to fight/advocate for love and peace.
